Manage Content in Joomla

Joomla offers you more possibilities to add content to your website. Joomla is a Content Managenent System and need to offer various option to add content.

The "classic" way is to create contents with sections and categories. To add a single page you need to create a Section. In that section you can create one or more Categories. The pages can be added in Categories. Below you can see an example:

NEWS -----> name of the 1st section

Joomla Addons ----->name of the 1st category in 1st section

New joomla Component released ----->name of the 1st article in the 1st category in 1st section

New joomla module released ----->name of the 2nd article in the 1st category in 1st section

Joomla Templates ----->name of the 2nd category in 1st section

New joomla template released ----->name of the 1st article in the 2nd category in 1st section

Community ----->name of the 3rd category in 1st section

ARTICLES ----->name of the 2nd section

Joomla Articles ----->name of the 1st category in 2nd section

Photoshop Articles ----->name of the 2nd category in 2nd section

This structure show how Joomla content. You can have as many Section as you like. In every sections you can create unlimited numbers of Categories. In every categories you can add your content (news, articles). The "classic" option is very good for sites that need frequent updates. Once you created the structure is very easy to add content.

Joomla Static content is a good option for sites that don't need updates. You can create a simple page (or complex one) and link it to your main menu.

Many website (including Joomla Tribune) combine these 2 options. For news and articles it's good to use structured content. Once created you can add content very quickly. Joomla Static content can be used for pages like: "Terms and conditions", "about us", etc.
